For better or worse, I was born the artistic type! I've been active in art and music since early childhood, through college at Cornell University where I minored in fine art, and since moving to the Bay Area, where I played music professionally for many years. The day I discovered decorative painting, however, was a real turning point in my life; what a revelation it was that I could actually earn a living using my artistic skills as a painter without a gallery!
In 1996 I met Elisa Stancil, one of the top decorative painters in the nation, and began apprenticing with her soon thereafter. After many years under her tutelage, and a shorter stint with Willem Racke, another well respected San Francisco decorative painter, I decided it was time to start my own company and pursue my own tastes and style.
In 2002 I began working directly with clients to enrich and beautify their homes and businesses, employing techniques I learned while apprenticing, as well as developing original and unique treatments of my own.
Look for my work on "Curb
Appeal", a very popular HGTV program, and in upcoming issues of "Better Homes and Gardens", "Departures", and "DK Travel Guide".
